I had met a gorgeous male gang gang once that loved nothing but being cuddled, he was a sweetheart and I had seriously considered one as a pet myself but the more I researched the more I came to realise that sometimes keeping a bird such as the gang gang can be a really bad choice on the birds part unless one is fully educated, prepared and has the ideal environment for them to be content. If you haven't had much experience with birds and specifically cockatoos I would do a lot of research before seriously considering one as a pet, or consider a less demanding parrot. These guys do need a lot of time and a very harmonious, peaceful environment to stay happy. I did hear of a breeder putting a few babies from a cage into another larger cage for more space and they heavily plucked overnight from the stress. Can cause them to start pulling feathers overnight. They are also extremely prone to plucking brought on by stress, simple things such as changing things in their environment, picking up on tension in the home, a noisy home, separation anxiety etc. Although this parrot is larger and more magnificent than the cockatoos in its species, it has a few more sub-colors compared to the black cockatoos according to the color characteristics of the white color. They are very needy birds and really are best kept in pairs as they will bond very closely and become very dependant on their owner otherwise. The Gang-Gang White Cockatoo’s greatest physical features are its fan-like crests.
